In 4G, everyone shares the same pipe. In 5G, operators can "Slice" the network. - Slice A: Autonomous Cars (High Priority, Low Latency). - Slice B: YouTube (Low Priority, High Bandwidth).

Slice Hopping Attacks

If the isolation between slices is weak, a hacker on the "YouTube Slice" could jump into the "Critical Infrastructure Slice".
This is a major concern for smart cities.

1. IMSI Catchers (Stingrays)

5G was supposed to fix identity privacy.
In 4G, your phone broadcasts its ID (IMSI) in cleartext.
Police use "Stingrays" to intercept this.
5G encrypts the ID (SUCI), reducing the effectiveness of these trackers.
